Leonie Remington

Hi my name is Leonie and I am the founder of LKR Therapies.   I am really passionate about helping support people through their life journey and helping them to grow and develop so that they can live their best possible life.

I'm originally from New Zealand.   Following on from my university studies, like many fellow kiwis my adventurous sense led me to travel and explore around the world. A couple of years later I ended up here in Berkshire. I stayed, got married, and here I am.

People often ask me why I became a therapist.   My journey really began when I went to University and studied psychology and criminology.  I had no idea at the time that I wanted to be a therapist, and it' s funny how life seems to send you in the direction you are meant to go in.  Right from the start the mind and its processes fascinated me, and it was then I began to realise how important our thoughts are in terms of shaping our experiences, perceptions, emotions and life achievements.

After arriving in England I started to explore hypnotherapy on a personal level and was quite literally blown away by the power of hypnosis to bring about change.  I went on to study with the 'Institute of Clinical Hypnosis' in London and graduated as a Clinical Hypnotherapist at the end of 2000.  I  also completed certified training with the Society of Neuro-linguistic Programming and  a Diploma in Focusing, and a variety of other trainings in the field of the mind.

"I truly believe that the only limit on what you can achieve is the artificial limit in your mind".

In addition with studying the workings of the mind, I  also started to study the feet in great detail.  Again this was a personal discovery that led me to learn and understand the benefits of reflexology on both our physical and emotional health.  Being a very logical person, it first seemed very strange to understand about energy and how energetic blockages in our body can affect our emotional and  physical  well-being. But like all things in life, when you try them and find they work its then hard to not become a believer.  From my experience, and the experience of others, I was convinced, and this led to me train as a reflexologist. In 2005 I completed  ‘ITEC Reflexology Diploma’ with distinction.

As a therapist it's great to be able to offer the flexibility of both hypnotherapy and reflexology to clients and other healing techniques, either separately or as an integrated approach.  The support I can offer is always tailored to the individual and what is right for them.  I love what I do.  Quite simply it is about helping people overcome challenges, achieve their goals and live a happier life.

I am very lucky to have the pleasure of working out of Deanwood Park Therapy Centre, based just a few minutes outside of Newbury, Berkshire.  It is a lovely and calm environment with a very relaxed feel about it, and plenty of parking.   It’s a great place to unwind and relax and to experience the benefits that hypnotherapy and reflexology can offer you. If you would like to find out more about how I could help you then please get in contact for a chat.

I am also a full member of a number of professional bodies, The Association of Reflexologists and The National Council for Hypnotherapy and follow their Regulations and Code of Ethics.
